Voulême is in between
Ruffec and Civray in the region of the Poitou Charentes on the borders of the Charente, the Vienne and the Deux Sevres.

The beautiful surrounding countryside is excellent for easy walking and cycling or painting on the banks of the river Charente. 

For the more energetic there is canoeing, kayaking, horse riding and fishing all close by.  The delightful old market towns of Ruffec and Civray are each within a short drive with ancient churches and weekly markets brimming with fresh farm produce where locals gather to catch up on the latest gossip!
